We asked the Director of our Spanish School in Santo Domingo, Luca Pellegrini, "Why do you feel students like learning Spanish in the Dominican Republic and specifically at your school?" Here are the 3 major aspects he considered to be of the utmost importance for choosing to study Spanish at his school and in Santo Domingo.
- 1. Santo Domingo is Safe!
Luca Pellegrini, Director |
It was on this incredibly beautiful tropical island that Indians, Africans and Europeans, together, gave birth to a dynamic new American people and culture: a “criollo” people and culture. The process has been ongoing—the island’s geography, history, economy and culture are fascinating for their blend of old and new, developed and undeveloped. And the country is safe, with no major drug problems and virtually no crime or violence compared to other tourist destinations… and the people are kind to foreigners: the friendliness and hospitality of locals, together with the country’s scenic natural beauty make the Dominican Republic the perfect destination for a travel-study experience.
It's Never been so easy to learn Spanish: Our school staff and the people in Dominican Republic are at your service. Fast: (the entire program from Beginner to Advanced lasts 16 weeks), Easy (you will never be bored in class), Continuous (everybody in Dominican Republic is ready to chat with you in any way) and Surprising (you won’t believe the results of your proficiency tests).
We do it quickly. We do it simply. Two weeks per level, 8 levels in total, several tests to evaluate your learning in real-time, 2 professional teachers per group, max 8 students per group, books and teaching materials included, activities inside and outside class….
Our school offers all its Spanish language program levels year-round. Personalized care, familiar atmosphere, and all classrooms with a/c.….and don’t forget Dominicans: they love to chat and communicate…. even with body language if necessary.
Outside of class, the school's secretary works to keep students on top of all of the social and cultural aspects of the program, including many activities which students can participate in for free. The famous allure of Caribbean nights, between salsa and merengue, cuba libres and piƱa coladas, friendship and adventures, are all waiting for you, and you'll never be faced with the hated question: what should we do tonight?
You will always be speaking in Spanish. Because we want YOU conversing in Spanish as quick as possible.
3. Modularity: Customized long term Spanish study programs
You won’t need much time to start learning and talking Spanish. You can be conversing in just 2 weeks at a time. The entire program is divided in 8 levels. During 2 weeks each, but you don’t have to take 16 weeks in a row: you can take first level today, next level in a couple of months and so on... up to the moment you feel confident enough in meeting your communication.
